Puglia

Puglia

Located on the hill of Italy’s ‘boot’, Puglia is known for its warm sunshine, glorious beaches and hilly towns featuring whitewashed stone buildings. The farmland and small villages here date back centuries, which is illustrated in the ‘Trulli’ stone huts that attract visitors from all over the world to Itria Valley and Alberobello. Lecce is known as the ‘Florence of the South’, and boasts stunning baroque architecture, cobbled streets and churches created by famous European architects, without the big tourist crowds. Then there’s the food – sample Orecchiette pasta, Pasticciotto pastry and Altamura bread, which is said to be the most delicious bread in the world.
